minnie me

A few weeks (it may have even been months) ago, one of my friends posted on my Facebook wall about how I just needed to post about the J. Crew Minnie Pant on my blog.
I hadn’t tried them on, so I kind of ignored it.
Fast forward to now.
I have one pair of jeans that fit well (Jolt) and a pair of “mom jeans” that I can’t wear in public.
I went on a hunt to find better pants.  I mistakenly dragged California Funk, poor thing, with me.  I let him go home when I started getting really frustrated.  Shopping for pants is probably one of the most frustrating shopping excursions!!!!
But then I stumbled on the MINNIE PANT.
Leslie was totally right.  They might be life altering (okay, a smidge of an exaggeration).  Great pants.
They’re tight like a pair of a leggings, but not so tight that they’re trashy.  I’m just obsessed!!!
I wore them three times last week.  A little excessive?!
They look great with flats and great under boots and great with pumps.
Trust me, I tried them with all three kinds of shoes!
I think they were also made by J. Crew to go perfectly with the Jackie cardigan.  I have a few colors and I rotated them with my pants last week.  Love.
A few hints on sizing:
They’re tight, but stretch out.
If you’re in between sizes, I definitely recommend going DOWN.  (Vanity sizing, gotta love it.)
If you maybe, sometimes, kind of wear a petite size, get the petite.
The Minnie also is available in Tall, not that I need that though 🙁
I bought the black pair, but I’m beyond tempted to go back and get a few more shades.  I can envision wearing them for every presentation that I have for, well, a long time!
xoxo

I know what you mean about shopping for pants! I almost broke down the last time I tried to find jeans. It was a fiasco! Luckily my best friend talked some sense into me, but I still avoid pants shopping like the plague.

Just wanted to comment and let you know I read your blog and I'm from Hawaii. I also read your tumblr and you said you didn't see anyone from Hawaii that reads your blog 😉 Link me up if you want! I'm not in college anymore (already finished my MA), but I still enjoy reading!

I HATE SHOPPING FOR PANTS!! I'm short… these are a dream! I got mine a month ago… wish I had them sooner. But you're right, they do stretch.

I practically live in leggings so this is great! They look classy and stylish. Yet another thing to add to my want list! xx

I've heard great things about these but I think the length will be too short on me (and then I look like I can't find pants that are long enough). I guess I should try them in tall and see if that makes a difference. everyone raves about them!

Last year I was in dire need of pants and purchased three pair of Minnies: the ones shown in your picture, a denim pair with zippers on the side of the legs, and a thicker black pair with zippers on the side of the legs. Unfortunately, I found that they began to gather in a really unpleasant way right where my thighs hit my pelvic area. The gathering most women despise? That's what they did for me. I also couldn't stand the way the pockets were laying on my butt. They made me look bulky in ways that I am not. Perhaps they perfected the fit for this year; I'll check them out!

Can you wear them to possible internship interviews? I've been looking for a pair of pants that I can start wearing to interviews but haven't come across anything yet!

I love the minnie! I bought 2 pairs before I went to London for 6 weeks last summer and I think I wore them several days every week (I even had to find a dry cleaner, which was a whole other ordeal) but I just love them. I regret not sizing down though, because mine really stretch out!

I agree, the Minnie are great pants! But I have to say my absolute favorite right now are the J.Crew Pixie Pant. I have to force myself not to wear them everyday. They are similar to the Minnie but stretchier, more like leggings, with a zipper in the back and seams on the side so they are appropriate if you need to be dressier (like at my internship). If anyone hasn't tried them I highly suggest this style too!

I haven't tried those pants, but Jackie Cardigans as by far my favorite J.Crew item. I just bought another one yesterday at the outlet for $30!! How insane?

Okay, I admit to still liking J. Crew's cardigans, despite my antipathy towards much of their products, I may have to give them another try. Cuteness abounds!

I loathe pants. Like legit loathe them. However, JCrew Minnie is life changing. On the rare occasion that I do wear pants, these are the ones that I go for. I own them in 4 different colors. Def worth it!

I need to go try them! I hate shopping for pants, so I don't judge about wearing the same pants multiple times. I do the same thing.

I will definitely have to check them out! I do adore the Jackie cardigan, so it'd be nice to try their complement.

I LOOOOOVE the Minnie pants. I have them in cotton for spring/summer and the wool for fall/winter.

so many great combinations and such a smart piece; they work great even in my corporate office with flats and both heels!!
