dress well, test well

As Seen On USA Today College

____________________________________________

I have my last final exams of junior year on Monday.

I am ready academically.  I have studied, reviewed, practiced, etc.
How do I get that extra boost of confidence?
Remember my post about “Power Outfits”… here is a blurb:

“One of my theories deals with the idea of looking great, feeling great, doing great. I’m sure most you guys have similar things. You know what I mean though, if you have a big presentation, or a big test, or generally doing something that makes you feel uneasy, wearing a great outfit can ease your nerves a little bit.”

Dressing in a “power outfit” gives me the perfectly portioned dose of confidence I need to go into a test.  I have two tests tomorrow and I need to BE confident, I need to FEEL confident.
Tricks to finding your POWER OUTFIT:
Anything that is uncomfortable should be eliminated from the selection pool.  This includes shoes that pinch your toes, skirts with tight waistlines, and shirts with itchy tags.
Also eliminate any new articles of clothing.  That really cute dress you haven’t worn yet may have a tendency to cling to your legs…. you don’t want to be worrying about that!
Comfortable doesn’t necessarily translate into power, but your power outfit should be comfortable.
Rule of Threes should be implemented.  Three is my favorite number.  Three is a very powerful number.  Ideas to implement the Rule of Threes into your outfit:
(1) Dress + Blazer + Belt
(2) Slacks + Ruffle Tank + Cardigan
(3) Skirt + Button Down + Statement Necklace
Dress: J. Crew
Blazer: Theory
Belt: Ralph Lauren
Flats: Steve Madden

Tank: J. Crew
Cardigan: J. Crew
Jeans: American Eagle
Button down: Ralph Lauren
Skirt: Vineyard Vines
Necklace: J. Crew
Flats: Kate Spade

I have my first AP test tomorrow (AP European History) and I've been stressing over it this whole week. All of these outfits look amazing. I don't know how you did it, but this post could NOT have come at a more perfect time 😀

Oh I love these! Especially that middle one… it looks veryyy similar to my tentative Prep Talk outfit for this week 🙂

Your power outfit posts are always awesome because it's SO TRUE! dress well = do well/feel well/be great- and I know you will!

Love your outfit picks! I must say for tests I usually go for a comfy look/have been studying so much I don't have time to get dressed, BUT for presentations, I ALWAYS dress to impress!

Great looks! Personally, I always feel most "powerful" in a button-front shirt but the second outfit looks very comfortable. Good luck on your exams!

I love all of your looks! I definitely wish I could implement the theory, but my high school has a uniform…maybe some power hair accessories?
