Kate Spade Capelette

I don’t do the cold… but maybe I can definitely do a capelette. I don’t know if it’s the two years of city living or my age, or both, but I’ve been really drawn to neutral colors and simple looks. Maybe when I first moved here, I was all about crazy printed sweaters in the fall. Now I just want simple pants, a pair of flats, and a cozy sweater.
Even so, I couldn’t resist a bit of a print in the handbag though! How cute is it? I took off the longer straps because capes and shoulder bags don’t really work out so well.
I don’t think you can wear a cape and not feel chic. It’s also the perfect alternative for outerwear when the temperatures fluctuate throughout the day. Cool enough to wear in between meetings around town and warm enough for dinner out with friends. (One more note, turtlenecks and capes go hand in hand. This one would be darling!)

PS My favorite Maise bag now comes in a mini version. BRB, crying from cuteness.

I don't do cold either so I agree, a cape is a perfect way to stay warm during the in between temps! Such a cute look!

just keeping it real over here with my favorite shoes. worn into perfection, scuffs and all (I'm prone to stubbing my toes everywhere I go).

So elegant and classy! I also feel you on buying mostly neutral colors nowadays. I took a good look at my fall/winter wardrobe the other day and was like, oh…where did all the colors go? But I love it because I can mix and match so many items!

You look amazing here (and always) Carly! I've been coveting a cape for the longest time, but can't imagine they are the most practical thing (trying to throw your bag over your shoulder while running up the steps of the subway seems slightly problematic). But I still really want one #decisionsdecisions
