Bringing Home the Holidays

I feel like the consensus right now is that the earlier the holidays come, the better. What a year, right?! Normally people are up in arms if they see a wreath before Thanksgiving. Now it’s, like, the more, the merrier and the sooner, the better!!!

I’ve never really been one for holiday decorations, but even I am in the mood to get into the spirit sooner. Today we’re actually going to get a (real) Christmas tree. It’s a little early, but I’m partnering with one of my all time favorite brands for it so I couldn’t say no and I can’t wait to share more! But in the meantime, I’m also adding little holiday touches throughout the apartment.

Because we rent, I don’t really want to go all out for decorations. (Not to mention the fact that we have very little storage space!) Here are my favorite, super easy ways to get your home in the spirit.

holidays

Balsam and Cedar Diffuser // Diffusers are great if you live somewhere that doesn’t allow candles, like an apartment or dorm. Put one in the powder room or living space for holiday aromas all day long.

Ice Skating Mugs // Mugs are the easiest way to get in the spirit whether you want something for your morning joe or a nightly cup of cocoa. This ice skating mug is calling my name– but check out the entire series… they’re all so cute!!!

Felt Wreath // While I love a fresh green wreath, a felt wreath will last year after year. So have no qualms about getting it up early, no shedding needles!

Bose Speaker // Has anyone started the holiday Spotify playlists yet?! The Bose speaker connects to your phone or computer via Bluetooth and then you can easily bring it to whatever room you’re in. I use it in the kitchen while I’m cooking and then in the bedroom while I fold laundry and on my desk while I work. Nothing gets me quite in the holiday spirit as much as Christmas music!!

Winter Berry Soap and Lotion // I just went to the store this week to stock up on some delicious smelling soap for the kitchen sink and bathroom. The best part is that the smell lingers, so I get little hints of Christmas all day long. (This is a must if you have a guest bathroom!)

Holiday Candle // This is HANDS DOWN the best holiday candle out there. Trust me.

Christmas Village Set // How freaking cute is this kitchen set? I love the village scene and colors. Adds a pop of color to your kitchen for sure. I’d get one for myself and a few for hostess gifts!

Plaid Pillow // I can’t get enough of these pillows. I was planning on getting plaid bedding, but I think I’m going to have to settle for plaid pillows. But they’re so cute, so it’s not quite settling!

Dish Towels // There is no such thing as too many dish towels. I use them for everything from cleaning countertops to pulling dishes out of the oven. The striped ones from William Sonoma are my favorite because they hold up so well (and wash even better); I don’t think I’m going to be able to resist these holiday stripes.

That felt wreath is so so lovely. You’re right that sometimes something you can bring out time and time can be really nice

I always forget those little touches are the best kind of decorating! Replacing the oven mitts and soap for holiday version is so easy. I got that Nest candle for my boyfriend’s mom for Christmas this year (already almost done shopping for presents!) and I hope she loves it!

This post has me in such a holiday mood! I still think that some people go a bit overboard with the holidays (I’ve seen people putting up Christmas decorations in October), but as soon as the temperatures outside start dropping, I can’t resist turning on the holiday music stations and daydreaming about Christmas decorating! Can’t wait to see pictures of your tree!

Such a great post! I’m loving all the red and white this year. I just changed over my bedding to the Pottery Barn plaid like your pillow, and it’s the best. Target also has tons of great stuff in the new Wondershop. Happy holidays!

Love every single one of these picks! I’m still that person who needs to wait until after Thanksgiving to break out all the Christmas decor and music; I feel like celebrating too early takes away from my favorite time of year. Just personal preference! Hope you find the perfect tree 🙂

Just saw your snapchat! I have to know where your Christmas tree decorations (the adorable woodland creatures) are from!!! Especially the foxes. 🙂
