An Overall Good Look

Bah! I’m so excited to share this outfit. I tend to stick to my comfort zone when I’m buying clothes, but when I saw this dress I was instantly drawn to it! Even though it’s not what I normally would go for, I feel great in it.

I love it so much, in fact, that I thought it would be fun to show how it can be worn in two ways.

J. Crew Factory Overall Dress

At first, I was a little nervous to wear the dress without anything underneath it. As I was scrolling through J. Crew Factory’s new arrivals, I spotted this ruffle sleeve shirt and thought it’d be perfect to layer under the dress. It gives just enough coverage, and the ruffles are a cute touch with the straps.

I kept this look pretty casual and simple; it’s what I’d wear on an everyday basis. It’d work for school or a daytime weekend event. I wore wedges for the photos, but I could definitely see myself opting for flats if I was going to school or running around town.

When I pulled the dress out of the package, I tried it on without the shirt first. As I mentioned, I wasn’t sure that I would want to wear it without a top. (Frankly, I think I was most afraid that I wouldn’t be able to pull it off.) But, omg, I LOVE it. Again, it’s a little different from what I typically go for, but I was feeling it.

When I purchase items of clothing, it’s important that I’ll be able to get a lot of use out of it. This dress can transform into a few different looks, and that gets two thumbs up from me.

For accessories, I tied this Parisian scarf around my neck and added a pearl cluster bracelet.

How to style overalls dresses

J. Crew Factory always has a great selection of clothing and accessories at can’t-resist prices. This makes it, in my opinion, a great stop for back to school shopping. Whether you’re heading back to school as a teacher or a student, you can build great head-to-toe looks.

Right now, students and teachers can take an additional 15% off their orders through September 30th. This is always available in stores, but they’re offering it online through the end of September for your back-to-school shopping!

A few must haves for teachers: ruffle sleeve top, business casual pants, wool dress with pockets, d’Orsay flats, 5-star rated cardigans, and a printed shirt dress.

For students: ruffled tank, embroidered shirt, basic tees (these are hands down my favorite t-shirts), printed skirt, skinny jeans, puffer vest, and twill jacket.

Love that you showed how versatile the dress is despite being out of your comfort zone! I just got home from France and I’m so tempted to snap up that J. Crew scarf, too.

Love this dress with the striped shirt underneath, so cute! PS what lip color are you wearing in this post? It’s subtle but still looks great!

Love this dress – it would be super cute layered over a button shirt for the fall!
