Me Before You

A few weeks ago, I went to the bookstore on a whim. I went in with a list of books I wanted to get, but a couple were out of stock and a few didn’t look as interesting as I thought they would be. I walked around the store probably four times picking up different books before stumbling on a table with Me Before You. I have lost track of how many times this book has been recommended to me, so into my pile it went.
I highly, highly recommend it. Definitely tops the list of great books I’ve read this year. In the book, the main character takes a job as a caregiver and companion for a quadriplegic. The story is wonderful, and sad, but still… wonderful. I will say that everyone told me I was going to cry… and I didn’t. (Probably because I kept expecting to burst into tears… I just never did.) Some parts really hit me hard and the ending was a tough swallow.
Have you read this? Any other books you recommend?

xoxo

PS I can’t wait to start reading Lena Dunham’s Not That Kind of Girl.

I read it and loved it, I'm currently reading her most recent release, One Plus One. A little bit harder to get into, but I'm expecting it to pick up pace. I'm sure you've seen the previews or the actual movie, This Is Where I Leave You, but I finished decided to read the book before I saw the movie and it definitely did not disappoint, one of my favorite of the year so far!

I just finished her other book "The Last Letter from Your Lover." WONDERFUL. I cannot recommend it enough. A woman wakes up from a coma with only the last letter from her lover, and has to trace the pieces backwards to figure out what was going on. It's absolutely amazing and I finished it in two days I was so engrossed!

I normally don't fall into hyped up books but I recently caved and read Gone Girl. I've never liked mystery/thriller books but I must say, it was really worth the read. I wasn't a fan of the ending but the bulk of the book is a page-turner. I can't wait to see the movie and see how they adapted the book to the big screen.

This book is now going on my book list! I read another book by Jojo Moyes called The Girl You Left Behind. I really liked it and I wrote a review on it if you want to check it out: http://realnotideal.blogspot.ca/2014/05/borrowing-page-from-my-books-review-of_29.html
Another good book I read was Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt. I also wrote a review on this one: http://realnotideal.blogspot.ca/2014/03/borrowing-page-from-my-books-review-of.html
I love reading and hearing what other people have to say about books. Great post!
