Fun in a Blazer

One of the funnier life mottos I live by is: I can have fun in a blazer. I obviously think that they’re great for business wear, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun in one, too! A few weeks ago, I was meeting friends for drinks downtown. I don’t often head downtown for drinks and the group I was going with was quite the fashionable bunch. So, needless to say, the pressure for my outfit was on. (Not to mention, it was about 30 degrees and starting to flurry/drizzle.)
I ended up going with a dress that I wore during the warmer months and just paired it with a fitted schoolboy blazer from J. Crew. The dress is pretty loud (unlike what I usually go for, but I actually love it!) and the blazer definitely tones it down for more of a classic look.

Lo & Sons sent me this new crossbody recently. It’s so sleek and slim… it’s actually unreal how much fits in it, all perfectly compartmentalized. As a Type A girl, I can’t get enough of it. I actually think this would be the BEST option for girls who travel frequently because it’s a great, low-key crossbody that stores a lot of essentials while you’re out and about. (You have to watch the video on how much fits!)

How do you layer for the colder months?

I found the perfect blazer while Black Friday shopping with my friends (this blazer with elbow patches from Zara) but even after the sale I still found it a little too pricey, so I didn't get it. I'm hoping to come across a similar one at a better price! I really like this blazer, because it can make a casual outfit seem put together without being too formal, but it would work for business casual too. AND it looks really structured, which is great, but it's also really soft and comfortable, which is also great, if not greater! Darn, now I kind wish I bought it when I saw it (a lame sale is better than no sale?) -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

I love that dress. And I also love purses like that, I call them Marry Poppins purses because they look so small but fit so much stuff in them it has to be magic. čÖé
