Kate Spade Plaid Midi Skirt

Last week, I attended Kate Spade’s New York Fashion Week presentation. It’s my favorite event of the season. I wasn’t sure what to wear this year. The weather is always an issue during fashion week. It’s can be blizzard-ing in February or boiling hot in September. This year we got lucky with beautiful weather. I was excited that I found what I considered a perfect mid-September outfit. A nod to fall, but still comfortable for eighty degrees.
This skirt (also available here)… I mean. I couldn’t walk out of the store without it. It’s high-waisted so it will look great with a blouse tucked in when it gets a bit cooler off, but for this event I opted for a simple shell. Not quite a crop top… but not quite not a crop top.
Also, the skirt has the best pockets!
I also realized, casually the day before, that I didn’t have the right shoes. I have quite a few pairs of pumps and a handful of black heels… however, I didn’t have a simple black pump?! I think I remember one of my heels breaking a few years ago and I guess I never replaced them. I tried this pair on and was blown away by how comfortable they were. Perfect heel height, classic silhouette.

Ahh! I love this plaid look!! Kate Spade is always on point – I love how they consistently push the boundaries of style only to come up with something amazing. Hope to see more pictures from the presentation! 🙂

You look so chic! I wish I could pull off a midi skirt but for whatever reason I feel totally frumpy when I wear one. All the plaid at Kate Spade right now is so perfect for cooler temperatures!

Looking absolutely gorgeous in this girly and minimalistic outfit.
Your black heels are nice with dress.
