7 Pasta Recipes to Make this Summer

I think Louisa must have taken a peek at me pantry this weekend when she put this post together. I just stocked up on boxes of pasta. I went to make some last week and realized I was down to my last box! It’s my go-to comfort meal, even in the summer. These dishes are perfect for warm nights though… kind of makes me want to invite some friends over for a tiny dinner party!

7 Pasta Recipes to Make this Summer

I love pasta. I think everyone does! It’s something that I cook weekly because it’s so easy to throw together and you end up with a delicious dinner. My pasta dinners differ throughout the year—cheesy and gooey and more comforting pastas during the winter, and lighter-veggie filled fare during the summer. I’ve rounded up five of my favorite summery pasta dishes for you to try this summer!

1. Pasta with salmon and asparagus in a creamy rose sauce

There is this really delicious and well-known restaurant in Toronto called Sotto Sotto, the last time I was there I had this incredible pasta with asparagus and salmon in a rose sauce, so naturally, I had to recreate it for my website. You will not be disappointed.

2. Pasta with chicken and fresh herbs

There’s something about throwing a whole bunch of fresh herbs and lemon into a quick pasta dish to make it light and summery.

3. Mediterranean pasta salad

You can’t have a pasta roundup without a pasta salad! This pasta salad highlights the flavors of Italy with sun-dried tomatoes, basil, and olives for a healthy and lighter take on the North American classic.

4. Asparagus and white bean pesto pasta

A jar of pesto makes this quick pasta recipe possible! Loaded with asparagus and tomatoes, this pasta can be eaten warm or cold. It’s vegetarian and adding white beans is something that I picked up from an Italian cookbook I got in Rome.

5. Pasta with shrimp and basil

This is without a doubt my favorite way to eat pasta. I love shrimp, and this buttery, garlicky sauce comes together in minutes. Throw in some fresh basil, and you’re good to go!

6. Herbed pasta with garlic and walnuts

This is an older recipe of mine, it’s vegetarian and uses walnuts for protein and crunch! With basil and parsley, you can’t go wrong with this quick olive-oil based sauce.

7. Pasta with cherry tomatoes and garlic

This is one of my favorite recipes from the past year, deep flavors with a simple technique. I think if someone asked me to describe my cooking style, this would be the recipe I would point them to.
