Après Ski

I’m in Stowe right now for a ski trip! It was a little last minute, but after finding the cutest chalet on Airbnb, it was hard to say no to a few days of skiing. Of course, Vermont (as most of the country) is experiencing a cold snap, so it’s supposed to be pretty frigid. All things considered, it’s looking like we’re going to have a bit of luck with two twenty degree days (as opposed to the negatives for the rest of the week). Fingers crossed it’s bearable!

Even if it’s not that warm, I’m still all about being nice and comfortable after a long day of skiing. Taking ski boots off is, like, the best feeling in the world. (Although, I will say if you ski every year, I can’t recommend buying your own ski boots enough. It makes a world of difference to have boots that fit without hurting. I’ll never rent again. They’re so much easier to travel with than a set of skis, too.)

Now I know “après ski” is normally about cocktails and whatnot, but give me a cup of tea, a hot tub, plus a cozy sweater, and I’m a happy girl.

Unfortunately, this Après Ski sweater is sold out right now, but you may be able to find it in stores! It was one of my favorite gifts from a brand… so, so cute.

Seriously, this is all I need for after skiing: comfortable leggings and even more comfortable boots. I am slightly embarrassed by how often I’ve worn these leggings this winter, but then again, I’m not because they’re that great. They’re stretchy in the right spots without bagging and have a little sheen to them in the front for a little glam.

I bought these boots last winter and, for some reason, never wore them. They are ridiculously warm and cozy.  I’ve been slipping into them nearly every day to walk the dogs and to run an errand or two, but they’re definitely fit for a ski trip!

The coat was one of my holiday sale purchases. I have it in navy, and it’s such a great coat just to throw on. A little less fussy and a whole lot less bulky than a full parka. It’s also pretty warm, especially if you’re layering with sweaters and just going from the car to somewhere inside. It’s one of those coats that you don’t have to take off when you walk inside. (Some of my parkas are so warm that I’ll get super sweaty and feel faint if I keep them on when inside!)

I definitely agree with you! Buying ski boots is a lifesaver. There’s always so many good off-season deals as well on boots.
Such a cute sweater!

Stowe!!!! My husband grew up in Stowe and his parents still live there, so we visit often. They’ve been having great snow this year. Get dinner at Piecasso and check out the Stowe Mercantile in town for yummy free samples 🙂

Very cute outfit! I’m hitting the slopes soon at Park City. Would love to go to Stowe one day. Also – it’s après, not aprés ☺

Love this outfit!! Assuming the answer is yes because you’re wearing them in the snow… but are the boots waterproof? Looking for a pair of winter/ snow books and these are everything I’m looking for as long as they’re waterproof! Enjoy your trip and happy new year! 🙂

Do you find the Patagonia jacket to be true to size? I love it, but I’m not sure what size to get. I’d take your version of après ski over the classic one any day!

Gosh!!!!!! That snow looks so beautiful! Almost unreal. And you are adorable in your sweater and leggins. Carters photography is just so awesome and your such a great model! =) Thanks for sharing about all the cold weather items. I live in FL and I seriously have NO idea about winter wear. If I ever go on a trip some place with snow, I knew exactly where to look. =)

Sounds like such a fun trip! I’ve always wanted to learn to ski. Can you do a post about your experience with learning how to ski?
