This is a post that I am over the moon excited about. My blogging bestie Julia just launched her new collection of dresses. Julia clued me on her dream of a dress line one of the first times we hung out and ever since there it’s been such a wonderful journey to watch from the sidelines as she made the dream a reality. Every time we see each other in person, I’ve gotten a little peek into the progress. I don’t even know the half of it and I can tell you that she has put everything into this collection and it shows.
It’s not “just another blog collaboration,” it’s an actual business that I predict will crush it. Retail is definitely going through some tough times right now and as unfortunate as it is to see brands and business that have been around for decades struggling, there is a huge opportunity for new brands and lines to emerge… and thrive. Julia’s collection falls into that category, in my very humble opinion. (And I’m not just saying that because I love her!)
I had high expectations because I know Julia was going to go all in, but even still, the real thing is even better than I could have imagined. The dresses are stunning in person and every detail was considered. The line goes from 00 to 20 with everything under $200. You can shop the collection on their e-commerce site, Nordstrom.com, and 40 Nordstroms around the country. There are exclusives for each though, so be sure to check out both sites out if you want to make sure you’re seeing every dress available.
Julia was so sweet and actually named a dress after me. Of course, the “Carly” dress couldn’t be more “Carly.”
I am obsessed with the silhouette. It’s so feminine and ladylike. It couldn’t be more flattering, too with the perfectly placed belt. I want to wear it all summer long.
The flutter ruffle sleeves are 100% my favorite part of the dress; it’s such a well thought out detail and juxtaposes the sleek fit of the dress.
(Please excuse the goosebumps… I would have photographed the dress in Antartica if it meant showing off my friend’s new business!)
I recommend using the given size chart before placing your order. I found that the sizing was true to size, aka it’s not vanity sizing (hallelujah!). I am wearing a 0 in the “Carly.”
