Little Lace Dress

While I have a number of navy dresses already, when I saw this spaghetti strap lace dress from J. Crew I knew I wanted to try it. I wasn’t sure how it’d fit or look, but when I tried it on, I fell in love with it. It’s definitely a wardrobe staple that you can wear year round.

Even if you don’t have a specific occasion to wear this dress right now, I don’t think you’d regret getting it. It’s appropriate for all kinds of weddings, work events, and even fancy date nights. You can’t go wrong with navy, but the red is also gorgeous and if you’re a bride, the white would be perfect for wedding festivities.

If you’re in between sizes, I’d get both to see which fits best. I was right in between a 00 and a 0. Because of my chest, I couldn’t breathe in the 00 when it was zipped but the 0 is a little big in the waist and rear.

Navy Lace Dress

I also consider this a staple because it’s the perfect dress for when you’re not sure what the dress code even is. I feel like dress codes lately are all over the place and hard to understand, especially for weddings, or they’re not explicitly stated at all! You literally just can’t go wrong with this.

Love the dress, and the color too 🙂 It’s tough when you’re between sizes. I have broad shoulders and a longer torso and I find that SO many brands have short torso tops and dresses. Just have to go up a size and get it tailored to fit right.

This dress would look great with a cropped crew neck sweater to give the look of a pencil skirt! Could absolutely see this working for so many different events!

So, so chic (as always) Carly! This would also look so cool on you dressed down with ankle boots or plain white sneakers and a trench coat for off-duty days.

Have a lovely week!

I hate vague dress codes for events. For that reason I stick with the motto “it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed.” This outfit would definitely fit right in with that..

This dress is perfect for you! You look amazing in that colour. It’s such a beautiful, elegant dress and you hit the nail on the head. It’s perfect for when the dress code is vague and this really can be worn regardless of season. Very classic too; this is a great piece for a capsule wardrobe approach to shopping. I’m going to see if I can find it in Canada.
