J. Crew Sun Dress in Paris

I’m partnering with J. Crew on today’s post and the timing couldn’t have been better. J. Crew is always my first stop for shopping when I’m trying to find something new for a trip, like my recent trip to Paris. (I don’t know what it is about trips but it makes me want to revamp my entire wardrobe!! Anyone else?) They restocked this dress from last year and I have it and love it in the white already, but find navy more practical for traveling in. Like always, I gravitate towards pieces that I feel completely comfortable in but still look/feel put together. That’s important to me on an everyday basis and even more so on a trip!

I packed quite lightly for this Paris trip and slipped into this dress first thing when we got to our apartment. We had a slow day planned and spent the day mostly wandering and eating and lounging in one of the many parks Paris has to offer. I met up with Margot, a photographer whom I met last fall in Paris while shooting with Daphné and we took a few photos in the Marais.

The forecast originally called for dreary rain but we got totally lucky and enjoyed a (mostly) sunny and warm weekend. I did bring my trench around with me but mostly had it off during the day because it was so lovely out.

Carly the PrepsterI also pulled a risky move and wore new shoes for the first time… all day. We walked over ten miles and I had literally no issues. Pleasantly surprised and absolutely love how they look. They have a tiny heel that gives you a hint of elevation while still making them extremely walkable. Trust me! Will definitely be wearing these frequently this summer– I tried them on with white jeans and loved how they looked with the white too. Oh, and the shoes come in a gorgeous navy too!

Have to note that the crossbody comes with two straps. A shorter chain strap (that you can tuck inside) and then a longer, removable crossbody strap too. Love the versatility because it’s like two bags in one. I wore the crossbody all day for hands-free ease of use and then swapped it off for our dinner out that night.

Paris is such a lovely place to showcase the sweet sundress! I went to Paris in February for 5 days, and I packed 5 dresses in my carry on. I felt put together and comfortable every day. It’s definitely a packing strategy I’ll be using in the future!

p.s. I’m impressed that the shoes gave you no trouble. I haven’t had much luck with JCrew shoes.
