On My Radar

After getting back from Nantucket early Sunday evening, I had a few days filled with work and getting more things done around the house. I’m going to do an updated post with what we have done so far and what we still have left to do. My mom is coming next week (!!!) and I can’t wait to show her the neighborhood and house! And, duh, take her up on her “mom” skills to help get things in good shape 😂She was supposed to come up for one of our (many) closing dates that got rescheduled so it’s been a long time coming.

And right now? I’m on the Cape for Nicole’s bachelorette party!! I can’t believe this weekend is already here and her wedding is next month. Time is flying by.

Tell Me Everything

Here’s what has been on my radar this week:

ONE // Tell Me Everything

Tell Me Everything just came out this week!! I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to reading this. Cambria is a friend of a friend and I have been closely following updates about it online. (It went to auction, meaning multiple publishers wanted it and Netflix already bought the rights to it to turn it into a movie… so you know it’s good. AND this is her debut novel, like what!) I actually ran into Cambria while on Nantucket in June and definitely fangirled a little bit. I got my copy this week and, while I haven’t had time to read more than a few pages, I’m already very much into it.

TWO // “How to Be Happy”

So I don’t think anything in this article is any surprise, but still… I loved reading it. If you have been reading my blog for a bit, you’ll know I subscribe to many of these things myself and I know I’m ultimately a happier (and overall better) person.

THREE // Gossip Girl Reboot

Gossip Girl is getting a reboot and I am here for it. I just finished watching the series for the first time (all the way through, I had seen the first couple of seasons when it came out) recently. The whole time I was rewatching it, I kept thinking about just how much had changed (it’s such a unique “slice of time” technology-wise), so I’m excited to see that they’re intending on showcasing how social media permeates high school culture even more.

FOUR // Katy’s Favorite Things Tote

The late Kate Spade’s fashion line Frances Valentine has a “Katy’s Favorite Things” collection of totes. I love them all– especially the “honeysuckle, Hepburn, handwritten notes” one. It’s part of the “Love, Katy” line which celebrates some of her favorite pieces of clothing and accessories.

FIVE // A Heartwarming Gift from a Stepdaughter

Okay, just as a warning. Do not watch this video if you’re not somewhere where you can have a good cry 😭 I thought this was the sweetest gift idea from a stepdaughter to her stepdad… and his reaction says it all.

PS The Nordstrom Anniversary sale kicks off for the public today!!! I will be back later today with a few items that shouldn’t be missed!

I love the Frances Valentine brand, and the Love Katy collection is so so sweet! I love how Kate Spade made her new brand part of her name, and brought back some more her original styles and ideas for her iconic handbags. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend listening to NPR’s How I built this Podcast about how Kate and her husband started their brand! 🙂
