Fall Mood Board

I did this last year and it was one of my favorite posts to put together. I don’t really do this for other seasons, although maybe I should? Since the weather has been all over the place and less than inspiring (more like “sweat weather” instead of “sweater weather”), I’m relying on the ~idea~ of fall for now 😉

Fall Mood Board

As I’ve mentioned, I am so into black and green for fall. I included a few photos that are capturing my mood plus a few recent purchases that I think really sum up the vibe I’m going for personally. The mums on the porch, a little B&W classic convertible moment, and then all the crunchy fall leaves.

My beloved Supergas have seen better days and I was going to replace them. I thought it could be nice to try a new brand though to mix things up a bit. I went with these Tretorns and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Super comfortable, and, well, the green!. The Neely and Chloe team gave me this bag a couple of weeks ago and it’s so gorgeous and feels so in line with my mood that I’ve been pretty much planning my outfits just so I can carry it. I also love that velvet hair ribbons are still on trend. (🙌🏻) What could be better than a velvet hair ribbon? A velvet hair ribbon with pearl details, naturally.

Maybe you should skip the ribbon/bow part for your hair, I dont know how 30 years olders really still suit this kind of hair accessory. Its not for our age 😅

The cool thing about fashion is that you can wear whatever you like, and Carly can do the same!

People can wear whatever they want, regardless of their age 🙂 And Carly runs a successful fashion/lifestyle blog, with thousands of loyal followers, so clearly she’s not the only thirty-something who loves bows!

“The mums on the porch, a little B&W classic convertible moment, and then all the crunchy fall leaves.” A sentence needs a subject AND a verb, Carly. This is elementary school stuff. Do better.

I scrolled down just to see if you had left another ridiculous comment. This is a BLOG. It is not professional writing. It is not a tech manual. I would say that it isn’t a novel, but novels also frequently use incomplete sentences to make a point. Do you call their editors and complain, too? This is conversational, loose prose. If this bothers you so much, please move on. Incessant comments about grammar say a lot more about you than they do about her.

I’m 99% percent sure you’re one of Carly’s fake name accounts that she hops on to defend herself under the guise of a loyal follower. Sounding educated by using proper grammar and diction is “preppy.” So yeah, the errors are off-brand and distracting.

Not me– my comments are always under “Carly.” TBH, I use emojis, fragments, run-on sentences, abbreviations, and gratuitous exclamation points. This is a blog where I have a purposeful relaxed tone and lax grammatical sentence structure (and the occasional typo, sue me) to convey a conversation with my readers.

Wow. Nope. I am indeed a loyal reader.

I’m 99% sure that you have nothing better to do that follow a blog that annoys you for no other reason than to be rude and hateful. Maybe you should get a hobby that positively impacts your life. Maybe you should see a therapist, too.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth (someone who isn’t afraid to use her real name)

I’m sorry, it’s not the occasional typo, but rather a constant and ever present display of a lack of care. It really comes across as though you aren’t trying to produce a quality product.

Carly don’t bother responding to GAF. You have created a wonderful blog and GAF just needs a new hobby.

I love a good mood board! I treat my Pinterest as a my dynamic mood board, and right now it is looking pretty cute and autumnal! I love the color palette you went with for yours because pink has also been sticking around for me this fall!! You should try a winter board, I bet that would also be fun to put together! Happy Tuesday, Carly!

Wondering why there are people leaving comments on this site that are so negative? If you do not like the site find something else to do with your time. Almost seems like an obsession to deliver hate comments.

I really love this and would definitely like to see a mood board for every season! It seems like you’ve been stepping out of your comfort zone with fashion and I’m really enjoying seeing you try different colors and styles but still staying true to yourself. I can’t believe people are finding negative things to say about this post…..I love that you write with a laid back style, it makes your posts more enjoyable to read. To be honest, there are a lot of blogs I follow that I don’t actually READ because they’re too formal in their writing. Keep being yourself and ignore the nasty comments, those people clearly have nothing better to do with their time!

Love the vision board!

I’m also 30 (just a few months older than you) and I love a good hair bow too! Plus, Kate Middleton wears the J.Crew hair bows so you know they’re classy 🙂

GeorgetownAF, it’s nuts that you read Carly’s blog every day just to write her rude comments. Time for you to get a life.

I love your fall mood board, and bows, and those Chanel flats! Such pretty, festive things. And I also love your writing style; it feels like you’re talking to friends. Happy Fall (despite it still feeling like summer)!
