Diary No. 7

Happy Saturday my friends! Sharing a little peek into my last two weeks via photos from my iPhone:

Julia Engel Baby Shower

I popped down to Charleston for a too-short visit for Julia’s baby shower. I thought we were going to be in the middle of a move that weekend, so when I booked my flights, I went for the shortest amount of time possible. Of course, the move didn’t end up happening and I was kicking myself for not changing my flights. First of all, it was so amazing to get to shower Julia and her baby on the way!! And, it was so much fun to get to meet her college friends! We all knew about each other through all the stories, but we had so much fun getting to know them in person. After the shower, we all went to Julia’s house and sat out on the porch chatting about everything.

I also got to get dinner with my dear Chassity and we had such a great time that we have zero photo proof of it. We went to Xiao Bao Biscuit and I’m still dreaming of the cabbage pancake. YUM.

Met Camp Exhibit

Meghan invited me to the Met to see the Camp exhibit. I watched all the coverage of The Met Gala, but it wasn’t until I saw the full exhibit did I truly get what camp is (and isn’t). Some outfits that I thought weren’t camp actually totally were– whoops, glad I didn’t post any judgments publicly on the gram 😂

Some of the pieces were kooky (like platform Crocs and a dress that was supposed to look like a TV dinner 🤷🏻‍♀️), but there were plenty of beautifully over the top dresses that I loved like the swiss dot and feathered gown above.

Since we were on the Upper East Side already, we headed over to the Blue Stone Lane a few blocks down. We braved the pollen (seriously, so. much. pollen.) and sat outside.

Bluestone Lane

Gal Meets Glam Floral Maxi

I had two events two days in a row at Claudette. It’s one of my favorite West Village restaurants. I wore the dress (c/o) above the first day and then wore the matching shorter version for the next.

Persifor

Persifor hosted a gorgeous luncheon for their newest collection. I couldn’t believe how beautiful everything was from the watercolor custom menu to the handpicked crossbodies from Colombia– every detail was perfection.

Peonies

There’s a bodega in Hoboken (uptown on Washington, around 11th St) with the best flower selection. I first went to the fancy florist down by me but I was unimpressed with the selection. I knew my trusty bodega would come through though. I walked out with two armfuls of blooms and made my own arrangements for Mother’s Day gifts. I found these gorgeous lanterns at Anthro to use for vases.

Baby Hunter Boots

Every week, I find out another one of my friends is pregnant! It’s been such an exciting year celebrating babies!! What’s a girl to do? Order tiny Hunter boots for every baby. 😂They’re just the cutest. They fit toddlers, so I usually gift them with a few books so they can be used as bookends until they fit. Honestly, they’re just as cute on a shelf as they are on a toddler!

Helen of Troy Draper James

Draper James had their fall preview. Tons of cute things coming down the line (although, it was very hard to get in the fall spirit before summer has even started!). They also had some of their swimwear collection that’s available now on display. I couldn’t get over this striped one piece.

Serena and Lily

I found my way out to Summit for a Gray Malin book signing at the Serena and Lily downtown. I could spend hours just wandering around– in fact, I would move in if they allowed it!!! It’s always so serene. I want to decorate my future house exactly like a Serena and Lily showroom.

Teddy Vet

I had to include this picture of Teddy at the vet. I love his froggy legs. He gets insanely pumped for the vet. I hate taking the pups because I get very claustrophobic in the tiny rooms and my needle phobia really kicks into full gear. But Teddy? He loves the attention and treats!

Sneakers

I try to steal away for a few minutes every afternoon for a visit to Choc o Pain for a cappuccino and a little reading session. If my schedule allows, I’ll gladly work an extra hour after dinner to fit in this afternoon ritual. I do not take this luxury for granted!!

Hamilton

And wrapping up this week with Hamilton’s sweet face. He’s such a cuddly pup and is always down for an extra belly rub.

Love these updates and such a cute baby gift! Beautiful dresses as well. I hope Gal Meets Glam continues to increase extended sizing.

FYI – I think you mean Colombia, not Columbia.

Love these posts!
I am all aboard the baby Hunter train. I’ve bought them a few times for baby shower gifts.
