Let There Be Pink

I know I keep saying it, but oh am I loving pink lately. Especially as it’s warming up, I am just loving the happy hue. And Hoboken right now has been very pink too.

The pups and I go on a walk every afternoon. We do the same loop and I think the three of us look forward to it equally. For most of April, I was calling it my “leaf tour,” taking note of the various degrees of greenness every day. I got a little obsessed with it, but seriously every day the streets were a little greener and a little greener and then BAM! One week every tree seemed to burst with pink blooms. I don’t remember it being this pink last year (although it must have been).

Naturally, I found my very favorite tree. I think the owners of the brownstone have been pruning it so it created a perfect little archway over the sidewalk. Here’s the tree from another angle. Perfection, right?

Pink Cashmere Cableknit Swetaer

In the past, this definitely would have been an outfit I went for navy with. (Well, I wouldn’t rule that out– I’ll probably, er definitely, swap in for a navy sweater at some point soon.) I had this pink sweater in my shopping cart for three months. Three. Months. I wasn’t sure what the pink would look like. It looks a little more peachy (aka my skin tone) online so I didn’t want to look like I was wearing a flesh-colored sweater. I ordered it anyway during a recent sale because there’s no harm in trying, right? Well, it’s the prettiest pink! I don’t know why it’s so ugly online. I’m so glad I got it.

Monogrammed Stubbs and Wootton Slippers

Okay but let’s just take a moment to admire these shoes. Gosh, I am in love with them. The Stubbs and Wootton team has been beyond generous and offered me a pair of bespoke shoes after a bunch of people used my discount code. (Speaking of which, you can get 20% off a full priced pair of loafers with CARLY20.) The bespoke slippers can be customized in a ton of ways– you can choose everything from style to color to material and, of course, the design. There were so many options that I actually took to Pinterest to look up different bespoke pairs and found this photo and knew it was “the one.”

Stubbs and Wootton slippers are the best. Insanely high quality– they stand the test of time (both design and structure wise). I size up 1/2 a size to a 7.5 for optimum comfort.

I have also been having a pink moment, and I am HERE for the pinks!! I looked at your sweater on the website, and you are right, the color pink does look like a strange shade, but it is beautiful in person!! Hope you have a pink filled day 🙂

I’m living in a pink moment right now too! Loving pink paired with green, I think it’s the prettiest spring color combo! I love your outfit and those shoes are so perfect!

It’s definitely possible that the trees weren’t as pink last year. Flowering trees, depending on the type of tree and age, can go through cycles of magnificent blooming and then skip a year or two and go straight to green. So you never know what you’ll find in spring as things start to grow again, it’s always an adventure!

Thank you so much for not hiding away from hot pink! It’s one of my favorite colors to wear! I’m also very pale and love how it makes me feel bright and cheery no matter what 💗💗💗
