On My Radar

Oh what a week it has been! I’ve been so overwhelmed with the home buying process that I can’t believe we actually live here now. Every morning I wake up (bright and early because we have temporary paper shades, ha) just feeling so excited all over again. This has been nothing short of a dream and I’m just so grateful that we ended up finding our literal dream home.

Dogs

Here’s what’s been on my radar this week:

ONE // Everything Will Work Out

I’ve been mentally revisiting this post frequently throughout the week. It’s crazy to think I wrote that three months ago when I was feeling so discouraged by the home buying process and I was trying my very best to stay positive. It’s such a good reminder to re-read that post because if I could go back to March, I would tell myself, “Don’t worry!! It all works out! Enjoy the ride.”

TWO // Guest Book

You guys have been sending me tips, advice, and recommendations regarding homeownership and I’m forever grateful. One fun little tip was to have a guest book in the house and I love that idea. Like how fun will it be to have a big book of memories throughout the years?! Turns out though finding a guest book that’s pretty and not cheesy (and not for a beach house haha) is kind of difficult. I found this Etsy shop that makes gorgeous notebooks. I customized one of the wedding books just to say “Guests” and I can’t wait for it to arrive!

THREE // Cancer Rebellion Trailer

One of my internet friends (and CP readers!) is actually featured in this trailer. It was posted on her Facebook and it looks like a great documentary about what it’s like to have cancer as a teen. (Spoiler: It’s not at all like The Fault In Our Stars.)

FOUR // Beach Sweater

Even though it’s been insanely hot, I still cool off whenever I’m at the beach. With the wind during the day or when the sun sets at night, I always bring at least one sweater. I LOVE this beach-y hoody sweater. I think it’s a great option for a little bit of coverage and warmth but still looks appropriate at the beach.

FIVE // Paying Parking Tickets with School Supplies

Las Vegas has a special program going on right now where non-safety violation tickets can be paid with…. school supplies. I know teachers are always stretching (small) budgets to provide supplies for classrooms and I think this is a pretty ingenious way to get the supplies directly to the classroom.

We got a guest book a few years ago and love it! I also recently splurged on an instax camera so we can snap a quick photo and paste it into the book. It’s the best.

The guest book idea made me simle so much- my Grammy has always had one and we never leave the house without hearing “sign the book!” Such a great way to collect memories
