On My Radar

I had a lot to be grateful for this week. New Jersey moved into a new phase where things are definitely more open. I know some states/cities haven’t been great about mask-usage but it is such a relief to go into a store and see absolutely everyone complying, even in the parking lot. Tomorrow, Mike and I are heading up to his family’s lake house in upstate New York for a week. Since New York and New Jersey lifted their stay at home orders and we’re just going to be at their house (in a very remote area), we felt like it was safe to do. Even though it may not be swimming weather, I fully intend on getting in that lake every day.

Okay here’s what was on my radar this week:

My friend Grace’s collection for Amazon The Drop launched yesterday! Things are selling out but as I’m writing this, the shirt I’m wearing above is still available. It fits true to size- I’m in an XS.

ONE //  Juneteenth

Today is Juneteenth– a day to celebrate the end of slavery in the United States. It’s not something I knew too much about before this year, I’m embarrassed to admit, but it’s important and everyone should know and acknowledge the day and what it signifies.

TWO // How to DIY A Deck

Ryan put together a post walking through the steps for building your own deck in your backyard. I am IMPRESSED with his handiwork. He did such a good job describing the process that I started to think it was something I may be able to do. (We have no place for a deck but I definitely thought about it!) Sharing here in case you want to try to tackle the DIY!

THREE // Brene Brown with Austin Channing Brown

I recently read Austin Channing Brown’s book I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness and thought it was excellent. Then I saw that Brene Brown had her on her podcast and, wow. This was a 10/10 listen. I can’t recommend it enough. HIGHLY recommend taking the hour to listen to it– and let me know what you think.

FOUR // Floral Block Print Rash Guard

Okay… this cropped rash guard is absolutely GORGEOUS. I am all about wearing long sleeves at the beach and thankfully there are so many adorable options nowadays to choose from. This one is stunning. And if you’re not into rash guards, the print is also available as a bikini and as a one-piece.

FIVE // RomComPod

Another podcast this week! Becca’s RomComPod launched last week and they’ve already released two of the episodes. It’s… unbelievable. Kind of like an audiobook and sitcom rolled into one podcast. So impressed with the quality and sound effects and voice acting and writing!!! Super cool.

They look like the ones I’ve seen/maybe Carly posted from the Tiny Tassel in Charleston!
