Palm Beach Girls Trip ☀️

Earlier this year, Julia and I decided we wanted to go on a girls trip together. We definitely wanted to go someplace warm. Julia suggested Palm Beach, and it ended up being the best few days together. Traveling with friends is one of the greatest things to do. Not all friendships are cut out for travel, though, so when you find a good travel buddy, hang on tight!

Every time Julia and I have traveled together, it’s been a bigger, very planned out trip (Alaska and Ireland!). We were both looking forward to a low-key, relaxing trip. We didn’t have one plan going into it and instead just decided to go with the flow. It was a true vacation!!

Today, I’m sharing a few snapshots from the trip:

The Colony Hotel Palm Beach

The palm print accents throughout The Colony Hotel made it an easy choice for where to stay. (Plus it’s right down the street from both the beach and Worth Avenue.) We spent a lot of time at the hotel this trip: enjoying meals outside by the pool, working in the living room of our suite, and curling up in bed watching movies (and eating French fries) every night.

Palm Leaf Pajamas

Julia got us these matching pajamas. Honestly felt a bit like Eloise.

CJ Laing Palm Beach

I’m normally not impressed with shopping in “beach” towns, but Palm Beach has amazing stores. Worth Avenue has so many great shops to pop in and out of. If you find yourself in the area, I have three recommendations for spots that you can’t find just anywhere else.

Above, CJ Laing has two stores on Nantucket in addition to their Palm Beach location. It’s so bright and colorful! If you forget a cover up or want to bring a unique souvenir home for a girlfriend, this is the place to go.

Below, Lindroth Designs is the home of the original painted monogrammed bag. It’s a great little store to pop into to order a custom bag or to pick up a few housewares. The woven trays were my favorite.

Two below, Stubbs and Wootton is the place to go to get a pair of the classic (and quirky) needlepoint loafers. I’m not one to spend a lot of money on shoes, but I make an exception for Stubbs. They’re so comfortable, nd I just love the way they look on– and the quality is 100% worth the price. Julia ordered the cutest monogrammed pair– I was very jealous… and now I’m regretting not doing the same!

Julia is making a pretty big sell on me moving down to Charleston. It’s tempting. We always have such a good time together and I really do wish we lived closer. At least we’re in the same timezone right now. Progress!

Palm Beach Florida

Even though I lived in Florida for ten years, I had never been to Palm Beach. (The closest I had been was Miami for my high school’s state championship football game, ha!) It’s only three and a half hours away from Tampa and it’s gorgeous. It felt more like being in a small, colorful, beachy Italian village. March is the time to go for the spring blooms, especially the bougainvillea. There are little “hidden” gardens just off the main road with more restaurants and more stores. It’s easy to spend an entire afternoon just lazily wandering around.

Palm Beach TreesSunday was our first night in Palm Beach, but we were feeling exhausted from traveling and the time change. So we had dessert for dinner out by the pool and then had room service while watching a movie later in the night.

Surfside Diner

In between shopping, we popped into Surfside Diner for a quick lunch on Monday. We sat right at the bar, which unfortunately (hehe) meant that we had to stare at those cakes and pies the whole time!

We had our only “real” dinner in Palm Beach at Būccan. So, so many people had recommended it to us and it didn’t disappoint. If you’d like to dine there, I highly recommend calling to make a reservation. (Open Table didn’t show any available tables even though they did end up having space when I called!) It was a Monday night and absolutely packed, even for our early 6:15pm dinner!

Palm Beach

On our last day in Palm Beach, we biked down to the Breakers for breakfast. I was in love with the Lilly Pulitzer pillows everywhere!!! We ate inside because it was a little cooler, but I wish we had been able to eat out in this courtyard.

I really can’t wait to visit Palm Beach again. With direct flights right from Westchester Airport, it’s surprisingly easy. And I love that it’s close enough to my family so I can have time with them too.

Florida has been in my bucket list for years. After seeing your photos I’ve decided that Palm Beach is the first place I’m going to visit when I go there.
You make a good point about traveling with friends. I have really good ones I’d never travel with!

Palm Beach has been on my trip wish list for some time, but you’re making me want to make it happen sooner rather than later with these photos! I feel like it would be impossible not to come back inspired with all of the colors 🙂

Your trip looked SO fun! And those matching palm print PJs are too cute!

You’ve now made me desperate to escape somewhere warm and tropical.

I love that maxi! How did you manage the bra situation w/ the spaghetti criss cross straps on the dress?

Every summer for the past 5+ years, I’ve taken a trip down to Florida (I’ve used many of your Tampa recommendations!) with my girlfriend who lives in another city, and we have the best time. We’re uber-lazy, and we love just having no-nonsense pool and beach time! Last year, we left the beach for a day to have a vacation-within-a-vacation at the Ritz Sarasota. Might need to try Palm Beach one of these years! Looks lovely!

I’d never really thought about Palm Beach before, but after seeing these amazing photos, it’s definitely been given a place on my list of places to visit.

Ah! I’m from West Palm! I JUST missed y’all coming to my hometown- I was at school 🙁 Next time you go, you have to go to Delray Beach and Atlantic Avenue- it’s a small scale “downtown”!!!

Love this post, but your Stubbs and Wootton link is wrong! I think you mistyped Wootton! 😀

Just booked a reservation at Buccan for this weekend — planning a visit with my BFF. We recently moved back to NY from Charlotte and this will be our first time seeing each other in 4 months! Question: what’s the evening attire vibe in WPB and were there any other must visit walking/shopping areas besides the ones you cite?

We are totally looking for low key trip and have some spa time slated as well as a kayak excursion.

Will be sure to check out your suggestions — p.s. Love both your maxi dresses!
