Perfectly Plaid

This dress just screams Carly! Or Samantha Parkington. Or Rory Gilmore. Or maybe even Blair Waldorf. I can’t decide, but I know that it’s amazing.

I wore this last week and met up with Carter in the morning to shoot it. (Actually met/saw a bunch of readers commuting to work… Hi!) We had one of those rare New York City days where you could comfortably have bare legs but still wanted a coat because of the chill in the air.

How to Style a Trench

I just love how quintessentially fall this dress is. The herringbone plaid couldn’t be better. It’s great by itself, but I love how the trench coat looks layered with it too. (It would work great with a wool overcoat too.)

The dress also zips up the back so the buttons in the front aren’t actually functional. Personally, I love that because you get a great fit without having to worry about gaping.

Gucci Loafers for Less

These loafers are from last year. The exact pair is unfortunately sold out. You could always splurge on a pair of Guccis (I’ve been tempted, ha) but there’s also a Sam Edelman pair that looks comfortable and cute for a much more affordable price.

Great post, love the outfit! I would love it if you could do a post on fall/winter outfits for places like South Florida where it stays pretty mild – you probably have some good ideas and thoughts having lived in Tampa!

I love that dress! The plaid is subtle but still so preppy and classy. I also love how you paired it with the red loafers!!

Love this look and totally feel you on shirt gaping – it’s the worst! I recently found “the shirt” by Rochelle Behrens at Tuckernuck and she added a hidden button that completely prevents gaping and its amazing

I know I probably say this every month, but I think this is my favourite GMG dress on you yet! I love every detail – but especially that adorable bow tie and cute silhouette. It looks like it was literally made just for you!
