WEEK OF OUTFITS 9.22.20

I am going to introduce a new little “series” of sorts on here. Nothing groundbreaking– just a week (or weekish) of outfits I wore. Honestly I’m doing this for myself as motivation because I have been tempted to wear basically the same thing every day. And we’re starting to do ~slightly~ more things out so I have been getting dressed more.

TUESDAY

I had an all-day photoshoot (as, like, a model which was way outside of my comfort zone). Obviously went to “set” with clean hair, no makeup and an easy to change out of outfit.

WEDNESDAY

Spent most of the day just working from home and playing catch up. I volunteer on Wednesday afternoons though at a food bank. I try to be comfortable and have to wear closed toe shoes.

THURSDAY

Mostly working from home but was able to get coffee outdoors with Elsa! We hadn’t seen each other in person in a couple of months!

FRIDAY

Just working from home– nothing exciting, ha.

SATURDAY

A chilly very fall day. Took the dogs for an extended walk and then I pretty much sat on the couch needlepointing and watching television for hours. Very, very, very lazy day.

SUNDAY

Spent the morning organizing our basement which was a disaster zone after the wedding. And then spent the afternoon outside reading followed by dinner and s’mores cozy outside too.

MONDAY

Mostly working from home, but had a couple of annoying errands to run like getting my car serviced.

Love this! I’m curious to know, do you have a preference for the Dudley Stephens Park Slope vs the Brighton Boatneck? I’m torn between the two!

Love this new series! This might be weird, but now that I’ve started a new skincare routine and my skin is looking better, I feel less like I need to put on makeup to wear a real outfit—which then makes me feel like I have no excuse anymore to not wear said real outfit! I’m also starting to expand outside my core circle this week (eek!) which makes this doubly relevant.

P.S. I just looove all the art in your home. Honesty can’t wait until you finish decorating just because I feel like you have some art in hiding or on your wishlist that I’m going to be obsessed with!

YES! Reminds me of your old OOTD posts – you know I have missed those! Was honestly kind of hoping they’d return when you got this mirror, so please keep it coming! 🙂

Love this roundup! Quick question- I’ve been eyeing a Dudley Stephens for a while now (you’ve influenced me) but what are your thoughts on the vello vs terry fleece? Thanks!

Ooo I can answer this! The Vello fleece is like your standard thick, fleece. The Terry fleece is fleece on the inside that it slightly thinner than the vello, and terry material like a towel on the outside. It is not like a thick towel, but a soft, pliable towel. I think the terry wears a little nicer over time and doesn’t pill as much and is easier to get stains out of! Hope this helps 🙂

Yay!!! I love this series! A throw back to the OOTD posts- I used to save all your outfits on tumblr back in the day!

Carly, can you do a full post (on here or maybe IG stories) on the Dudley Stevens fleeces? I’d love to invest in a few but would like your very honest opinions about them!

I love them– but only the classic styles. (Not everything works in fleece, in my opinion.) Very cozy! I’ve been wearing them for years 🙂

I love this! Was just thinking how happy I am to have a few bloggers (like you!) that still just write and share their daily lives. I’m sure it’s a tricky balance when you’re making your living from it, but I appreciate that you still do the “traditional” bloggy things! It’s fun to read. 🙂

Also, congrats! I’ve read all your wedding posts and I’m just so excited for you.

Please keep doing this series! I love seeing what bloggers actually wear on a day-to-day basis, as opposed to outfits that are styled for photoshoots.

Carly,
You so inspire me! I felt the same since the pandemic started. I will take pictures of my outfits for this week. Then, it will help me for sure. Many thanks.

Carly, I am looking to purchase a new “preppy” everyday tote. Do you carry around your llbean bag everyday or do you have something smaller for everyday life?

Do you wear shoes inside your house throughout the day or just when you’re taking outfit photos?

Sara

Do you need a camisole or bodysuit under the AYR shirt? I currently have a similar shirt but I need to wear a bodysuit so people don’t see my bra (or bellybutton!). I’m looking for a shirt thick enough to wear on its own and yours is very flattering.
