Thought I’d round up some of the most popular/most helpful posts throughout the years today. My DMs have been busier than usual lately and I think it’s because so many people (including myself) are on their phones a lot more. If you’re looking for distractions, here ya go! Lots of little rabbit holes to go down.
Even though this is the largest place I’ve lived as an adult (a one bedroom apartment in NYC right after college graduation, a one bedroom + den apartment in Connecticut, and a two bedroom apartment in Hoboken), this is the smallest closet I’ve ever had. It goes without saying that this is a champagne problem (and I have a basement now to store off season clothes woo!), but it was a fun challenge to organize and maximize space. I love how it turned out!
Gotta be honest! I am not curling my hair right now, ha! I am blow drying it because it makes me feel more normal to have my hair under control. But I get a lot of questions about I curl it… maybe this is a good time to sit in front of your mirror and practice a new style?!
Seems like everyone is joining the needlepoint game and I love it. Trust me, now is the perfect time to learn and I promise you it’s way easier than you think. I love that it gives my fingers something productive to do and it’s a great break from scrolling on your phone. You can totally do it while watching TV and I’ve been doing it in little spurts while listening to audiobooks.
These two posts remain in the top posts of all time. I wrote them after I saw a bunch of people writing “e-books” and hosting ridiculously expensive MLM-style online coaching courses to teach people how to blog. You do not need to spend a dime– I share what I know!
This was the first post from my blog to ever go “viral.” For a while, it was 50% of my new traffic (the other 50% was from the google searches “Critter shorts” and “vineyard vines totes” back in the day!). It’s a pretty dated post (you’ll know what I mean when you see the Instagrams!) but totally something you can do at home right now if you have a photo printer. Maybe take iPhone pics and convert to B&W and print to make them look like an authentic strip!
Another viral post! Another to try now and save for the later.
After staying off the blog and social for years, Mike finally made his first appearance! It was so fun to go through our phones and pull all the photos. So, so many fun memories. He’s been slightly more game in terms of posting, ha, but I think we both like keeping our actual relationship largely offline.
Most of my friends do not read my blog but kind of hilariously a bunch of them have somehow landed on it after google searching this. One of Mike’s friends found it and then only later connected the dots that he knew me, which was pretty funny.
This was one of the most exciting things I got to share with you guys. It’s fun for me to go back and re-read it because I get just as excited as the day it happened. That whole period feels like a blur so I’m glad I wrote it down to capture it. Almost a year late and I’m still as in love with the house… if not more actually!
Switching to a menstrual cup was one of the best things I’ve ever done. It can be intimidating and I was actually thinking that trying it out for the first couple of cycles while quarantined in your house is actually not the worst idea. I’ve converted countless friends at this point! Highly recommend giving it a try.
Little did I know that when I bought this machine six months ago, I’d be relying it on it daily while coffee shops everywhere got shut down. This machine is small but MIGHTY. She does an excellent job whipping up espresso shots and frothing milk for various drinks. LOVE IT.
